In her role as a Business Relationship Manager with the Economic Development Council of Collier County (EDC), Brooke Gabrielsen is responsible for business retention and expansion outreach. She works with companies in Collier County to identify available resources to assist in their expansion. Brooke joined EDC in April, 2009. She is a member of Florida Economic Development Council, American Planning Association and the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Young Leaders, where she serves on the District Council’s Sustainability Committee. In order to better serve the business community Brooke is also involved with the Southwest Florida Regional Technology Partnership, the Southwest Florida Regional Manufacturing Association and the Gulf Coast Venture Forum. Brooke is an advocate for connecting the resources of the private business community with the students of Collier County Public Schools through programs such as Junior Achievement.
Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Brooke has lived in Southwest Florida since 1987 and graduated from Barron Collier High School. She graduated from the University of Florida magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and Economic Geography. Her honors thesis was on Economic and Workforce Development. Her graduate work at the University of Florida focused on Urban and Regional Planning and Political Science.
Brooke returned to Naples in 2003 and began teaching Social Studies at Barron Collier High School where her students had excellent test scores in the Advanced Placement courses. In 2005 she joined WilsonMiller as a Land Use Planner where she worked on Developments of Regional Impact (DRI) and Rural Land Stewardship. While at WilsonMiller, Brooke participated on the EDC’s Workforce Housing Task Force, and later on Project Innovation.
Brooke is married to Nicholas Gabrielsen and they have one child. She is a member of Summit Church in Naples.
