The year's Software Lecture Series presents a balance of academic and business speakers -- a program that is equally attractive for students, IT professionals and technology companies.

The programs begin with a reception at 6:00 PM; the featured lecture from 6:30-7:30 PM; followed by an hour of “meet and greet” time with the speakers.

The location is FGCU Academic Building 7, Auditorium 114. The lectures are open to the public, and there is no charge.

The Lecture Series began three years ago as a strategy to increase the visibility of the growing software development community in Southwest Florida. FGCU recently expanded its IT course offerings to include a degree in software engineering, one of the IT specializations in highest demand.

The series is presented by the FGCU Software Engineering/Computer Science Program in the U.A. Whitaker College of Engineering, jointly with the Southwest Florida Technology Partnership. SWFRTP is a non-profit membership organization comprised of technology companies and technology users, economic development groups and higher education institutions united to promote and expand the regional technology sector in Southwest Florida.
